3/28/2015:  Early Saturday morning, numerous users and Shawnee employees lost the ability to log in to their Shawnee email accounts.  Upon contacting our email vendor for assistance, extensive troubleshooting was conducted that found issues with the software used to support email service.  On Monday morning, a software patch was installed in hopes of solving the issue, which it temporarily did.  After services failed again at roughly 10:30 am, an additional software patch was installed that should completely resolve the issue.  We apologize for the inconvenience.

3/24/2015:  At approximately 8:00 am Tuesday morning, services for roughly 50 subscribers were interrupted while Shawnee technicians severed customer serving fiber in order to relocate it in preparation for upcoming bridge construction.  Services were restored once splicing was completed at roughly 1:00 pm.  We appreciate your understanding in the matter.

2/25/2015:  At Midnight this morning, Shawnee technicians began routine server maintenance that interrupted service for nearly all Internet subscribers.  Once the upgrades were complete, services were restored.  We apologize for any inconvenience.

2/12/2015:  Approximately 8:00 am this morning, a Shawnee server was targeted in a DDoS (Distributed Denial Of Service) attack which severely restricted Internet access for our subscribers.  The attacked server was constantly sending information requests to a gaming web site, presumably to render that site inoperable.  Once the gaming web site was blacklisted, the server resumed normal activity and precautions were taken to prevent further issues.

8/13/2014:  Early this morning, an update was made to our Switch that resulted in a temporary restriction of telephone access in the Renshaw exchange.  The issue was discovered shortly after the start of business and immediately corrected.

6/11/2014:  Today at roughly 9:30 am, another outage was reported in Herod that was the direct result of another cable cut.  Crews were dispatched and repairs were completed around 3:30 pm.

6/10/2014:  Today at roughly 4:00 pm, we were informed about a cable cut affecting customers in the Herod area.  Crews have been dispatched to repair the cable and restore service.  We will post more as information becomes available and apologize for any inconveniences.

Update: the cable was repaired and service restored at roughly 6:30 pm.

6/6/2014:  Today, we will be doing pedestal maintenance in the Renshaw exchange.  Customers located South of the 145/146 intersection can expect to see brief service interruptions throughout the day.  We apologize for any inconveniences that the repairs may cause.

3/13/2014:  The provider that Shawnee connects to for Internet bandwidth will be conducting emergency maintenance starting at 1:00 am on Friday morning.  The maintenance window will run until 5:00 am, however, the estimated outage time is expected to be roughly ten minutes.  We apologize for any inconvenience.

2/13/2014:  Tonight, Shawnee will be conducting network maintenance affecting two services.  First, around Midnight, we will be performing a network upgrade that will affect all Internet usage for approximately 30 minutes.  Second, at 3:00 am, we will be conducting an e-mail upgrade that will last 3-4 hours; during this time, e-mail access will be sporadic.  We apologize for any inconvenience.

2/07/2014:  At 3:00 pm, Long Distance services were restored as the Fiber splice outside of Harrisburg was completed.  The equipment malfunction in Anna has yet to be resolved but since that is used as a back up, it’s absence  is not service affecting at this time.  Thank you for your patience.

2/07/2014:  Shawnee is currently experiencing a Long Distance outage due do two separate issues; a Fiber cut outside of our service territory near Harrisburg and an equipment malfunction outside of our service territory in Anna.  Because our Long Distance traffic is carried on redundant paths, as soon as one of the issues is resolved, services will be restored.  We will post more information as it becomes available and apologize for any inconvenience.
